I am an International student in Toronto and would like to fly to Vancouver for a couple weeks. I wanted to know if my passport is sufficient ID for me to travel on. I received an extension on my study permit but have lost it. Will that be a problem?

Well, you should replace your documentation for your study permit but to Travel within Canada you will probably not need it. To fly within Canada you have to be able to prove who you are which, under Transport Canada regulations, you must have a valid piece of government issued photo ID which a passport is. Since economic times are getting more difficult, what electronics or technology would you eliminate to save money? For example, cutting back on cellphone use, cable service, satellite radio, video games, internet usage, etc. Give a brief reason why you picked that item.
I’m a new driver and my parents won’t let me go anywhere without a cell phone for safety reasons. We have cut back on cable tv and we are also considering completely eliminating our home phone since my mom, dad, sister and I all have cell phones. Another thing we’re doing is just trying to be conScience of simple things like turning off the lights, turning down the thermostat, using less hot water and car pooling. Haven’t seen a huge difference yet but it’s kind of taking the financial edge off. We can’t eliminate our internet because I’m taking online classes and also do most of my work over the internet. We also haven’t blown any money on video game systems and new games. We also got rid of one of our music programs since we were paying for two separate ones for our downloads.
I have a friend who loves rollerblading and would like to take it up as a sport, but does not know any other Sports she can do other than hockey. She has tried hockey and she hates it. Please help!

Amazingly, some people here compare our Social programs to plantation slavery. On plantations, blacks were FORCED to work without pay, and yet the many people who have the nerve to compare our social programs to the plantations also accuse black Democrats of all being welfare recipients or slackers in the same breath. Well, which is it? Are black Democrats slaves or are they slackers? You can’t have it both ways.
Well we obviously need some social programs. The problem I see and we have seen generations of it, is children who grow up with parents who are given a hand out as opposed to a hand up end up perpetrating the cycle. And this is not just a black or minority issue.
we need programs that will encourage growth and employment in good stable jobs, not just McDonalds.
I just found out today that the deadline for intel science search is nov. 14 and I won’t be able to rush and create a nice report.

Do you have a place like value village or salvation army.,. Like a thrift store where people donate stuff and then sell it? And take volunteers? They’re usually run by churches.
Volunteer at one of those for a couple weeks, and voila, you have Retail experience.
Or apply to places like walmart that will hire almost anyone. Just because they PREFER experience doesn’t mean it’s a requirement. And usually even if you don’t have all the requirements you can still get in. My job now, I don’t think I even met half the requirements but as long as your enthusiastic it’s worth a try and they will sometimes take you.

i would never trust my dog with anyone else but myself when i am traveling and that includes mexican people
i would guess they would treat them just as they would treat luggage… very poorly
I use Time Warner Roadrunner wireless internet with a Netgear router. The Internet is extremely fast, but whenever I try to play an internet game called Starcraft, I can join/create games, but I usually drop out because my wireless connection isn’t "stable." I’ve played Starcraft on my dial-up connection before, and it is extremely stable. How do I make my wireless internet more stable?

My husband and I sold our primary home this year, but still own another house in a different state. We are now renting in the city of our primary home, but would like our second home to be considered our primary for capital gains reasons. I spend at least 50 % of my time at our second (now only) home. What do we need to do to make our 2nd home our primary?
Consult a tax professional. Residency is a big issue for the tax guys, as so many try to claim they live in state-income-tax-free states like Florida.
You will likely need to start keeping a detailed log book of when you were actually living in which place. You need 183 days in your Home to consider it your primary residence. But, to qualify for the exemption, you may need to actually log 2 full years out of the past 5 actually living in that home, so if you’re only there half the year, it may take you 4 of those 5 years just to get 2 full years that actually qualify.
It’s too complex to just guess. Spending a couple hundred bucks with a tax advisor now could save you thousands and thousands in taxes or penalties if you do it wrong.
