i know a couple people who own little sharks. I’ve heard you can own a freshwater stingray (are those even real??). Ive seen a video where someone had a pet penguin and it caried around a little pingu backpack (so cute). What other wierd Pets have you heard of that are legal.
the penguin was in japan lol
I considered getting one of those enormous millipedes (it was like, a foot long. Huge.)
I’ve wanted an octopus since I saw a nature show about them. This research facility had one in a tank and kept the crabs to feed it in another tank nearby. Every morning, they would find crab shells in the octopus’s tank…but nobody was feeding the octopus.
Finally, they watched it one night–the octopus was climbing out of its tank, walking across the floor (well, I guess you could call it walking), climbing up to the crab tank, getting a crab, and walking back to its own tank.
It would get back in its own tank to eat and leave the crab shell in there, I guess, to counfound its owners.
Awesome.
Or a squid–they can flash biophosphorescent lights and they’re as smart as octopi.
Cephalopods are definitely the way to go.
I’m moving to Australia this week, and plan to use the internet a lot, mainly for skype calls back to England and to prospective employers. How much are internet cafes? I don’t have a laptop, or a netbook, so wi-fi is out of the window. Is there free internet/cheap internet access anywhere? What do most working holiday makers use? I don’t want a phone line, so internet connection at Home isn’t useful either. Thanks!
i try to write the answers your problem in my blog http://www.mysecuredloan.co.cc you can see any problem in my blog or in my business blog http://www.mystructuredsettlement.co.cc
my home was built a number of years before my neighbor built their home. now they have planted a ash tree that will block my view of the valley. I live on a mountain bench above the city. we have an excellent view of the valley and sunsets. their house sits directly behind and lower than ours which took out some of our view. now they are planting trees to give them privacy from our rear decks. what can we do?
You know what, it’s your own fault for being too cheap to buy the vacant lot next to you before your neighbor built his home on it. If you wanted to ensure that you would have your view for the rest of your life then you should have spent the money, bought the lot, and kept it mowed. It is now his property and he can do what he wants with it, so keep your mouth shut and mind your own Business.
I have had neighbors try to tell me what I should and shouldn’t plant in my yard over the years and I responded to them by putting up a tall privacy fence. Quit being so selfish and realize that your neighbors have rights too and you are way out of line trying to control what they do with their own property.
If you really think that you have a right to tell them what to do with their yard, then offer to make their house payments for them – that is the only way I would give a neighbor like you that sort of consideration.
How is it legal for health insurance companies to discriminate against people with disabilities (I mean, medical disabilities), but other companies are not allowed to, like grocery stores are not allowed to? Or maybe it IS legal for other businesses to discriminate against people I am really just curious, that’s all. About the legal process. Health insurance companies kind of make me mad, because of this issue. I know I am expressing a political opinion, but I ask you not to troll. If you have a different opinnion thatn me, you can argue for it, but please don’t start trollin.’
You mean in writing policies? That’s one of the reasons we need Health care reform, the insurance companies exclude people with pre-existing conditions. Which kind of ruins the whole concept of insurance, which is based on pooled risk.
I’m trying to learn about armor, and the general principles as to why certain pArts/components came about, and what they were used for.
well for obvious reasons they were put there to protect the shoulder. How do u swing at some1 without your whole arm, pads were using to reduce blunt trauma and make the armor most comfortable in general, i would say the first major use of torso body armor such as the shoulder was in ancient greece and persia about 600bc to 150 BC the romans used the armor widely as they fought in close formations and carried large shields so their shoulders had to be protected, they were used up to about the 1700′s ish when gun powder made any armor virtually obsolete, armor is still used today however in police forces as protection, and is also reappearing in the military as full Kevlar suits are becoming more functional
I have to analyze a classmates food intake and compare it to the Food pyramid and they have protein shakes down. Does that fit into the food pyramid at all? As what?
Don’t put it in w/ meat like the other guy said. Chances are it’s whey protein which is DAIRY and if it’s mixed w. milk that’s obviously DAIRY too.
Hi, This is an odd question, but I absolutely LOVE Mayfair and one day would love to own a huge house there and basically be able to afford one. I am planning on doing Economics Finance and Management at University and i was wondering, what job in that area could make me a millionaire?
I know things aren’t that simple but I’m just really interested in knowing!
Or any job to do with Economics…
Thanks!
Hi,
Owning your own businnes and having multiple streams of income are the way most people become millionaires.
It sounds like you have 2 passions 1/working in Finance and 2/ living in Mayfair.
Sometimes your passions can not give you your dreams. So if they don’t or won’t in the timeline you would like…then find other ways to create the wealth you want so you can live your passions.
Read online or pick up a book by Robert Kiyosaki, He talks about how to create weath and use multiple streams of income.
Example: Income from rental property you buy, returns on stock investments, small network marketing business, and your salary from your employer. The 1st 3 are the most powerful, because they allow you to leverage your time and make money when you are not actually working.
I do all 4 and even during this down economy I see growth overall. Growth in 2 of the areas (real estate properties and network marketing), equal in my job and of course right now my stocks not so good. But overall still growth.
I wish you the best at both of your dreams. Email me through my profile if you want to chat more.
Live Happy,
Karen
How much should I charge for a fashion event? It’s for a grand opening of a fashion/Arts building with high-end clothing stores. I’ve done volunteer event photography and I am an educated fashion photographer.
I don’t know the details of your event, but here’s how I do my photog prices:
I start with a base cost. Let’s say it’s $600 for 4 hours of time, un-edited high-res jpegs of my choice on a CD.
If the client wants 2 more hours, add a set cost per hour. Let’s say $100 per hour.
Then if the client wants an album with prints of various sizes. You do your research and calculation and figure that’ll cost you $300 out of pocket, so you charge $600 more.
Then they want an additional photographer. Pay your assistant $50 per hour, charge $75 per assisted hour.
Etc. Etc. Using those variables you’d charge approximately $1850.
You adjust according to your own scales. It’s easy to have set price increases already calculated so you don’t have to worry about bargaining. And if you’re working with a client on a budget you can suggest cheaper packages or make your own sacrifices to ensure your hiring.
Why do I never hear of lay offs or cutbacks regarding jobs that are in the entertainment field?
Such as pro sports, music, acting, etc.
Also why are they still making so much money if so many people are out of work or have reduced paychecks?
There are huge layoffs in entertainment. A lot of staff cutbacks. High taxes and fees to shoot in certain cities, including, unfortunately Los Angeles are making TV and film makers go to other states and countries because it’s cheaper. As far as Sports goes, they have had layoffs also.
Keep in mind these industries generate a LOT of money. The players and actors and directors make a salary appropriate to their contribution to the profits. When they stop contributing to the bottom line, their money shuts off. They aren’t hired again. Football players make millions of dollars, but they only make it for a few years and then have nothing coming in. If they don’t plan, and they spend their money like fools, they will end up as broke as any old jobless person.
As to why you don’t hear about it… well the mainstream news only reports news it considers important. Don’t assume you are hearing everything that is important on CNN.
I’m interested in getting an outsider’s take on this question.
Every time there is an OECD survey, Spain, the 7th or 8th largest economy in the world always comes really low down in the ranking. In attainment in reading, science and mathematics. We are constantly down in the 20′s ranks near Greece, Portugal and Italy.
Every new government seems to want to change the education policy of the previous one and in addition regional politicians openly defy national government policy if they happen to be of another political party.
We have the money to have a much better Education system, so why don’t we?
Honestly? Voting another Party on the next elections. But even so I think it’s not possible to improve it rapidly. In fact, Spanish politics are rubbish! (whatever Party!). I’ve graduated on the University recently but I don’t think I’m trained at all. I think that the knowledge that the University teaches is not enough. The case of the elementary school and High School is even worse! It’s sad! I’m not particularly proud of that, what a pity!
