You have a point. Granny S has a point. It is sad that there are many conflicts around the globe. That will be the case no matter what until The Lord Jesus Christ returns to this earth. We are in a conflict now in which we cannot pull out until the mission (whatever that may be) is accomplished. After this, we should make it a policy NOT TO INTERFERE IN THE AFFAIRS OF OTHER NATIONS. Our very first president warned us of this in his farewell address. It rings even truer today. We cannot bring peace to other nations, especially those of the Middle East, which do not desire peace. They have been fighting over there from the beginning of time and they will be fighting over there at the end of time. That is where it all started and that is where it will all end. We have tremendous resourses in this country. We should put ourselves to using those resources for our own benefit. God is trying to bless this nation and our leaders are too busy running other countrys, instead of the one they were elected to run, to receive that blessing and make things better at home. There is no easy way out. That is for sure.

There will never be Peace in the middle east. While America buckles under the expense of a non existent country. We destroyed the infra structure with our bombs. We killed 200,000 men women and children. Every time an area the size of a US county is secured the new Iraq forces turn coat. If that area wants us to continue to protect them for the next 1000 years they should be paying for the protection.

Genocide continues to flourish in so many countries. If Israel has the nukes to protect the area maybe they ought to be occupying Iraq.

Some other solution must be found.
We can not be held hostage paying trillions of dollars on a lost cause. We could transport the women and children to safety if that were truly the concern. People suffer around the world and we feed trillions to a oil rich country that refuses to defend their own country.

Let’s not kid ourselves–there will not be peace in the Middle East, not our idea of peace. This is not a military affair instead governmental and we need to realize this war for what it is.
Our troops have performed above and beyond the call of duty, surrender used as hype to make a point, our military is strained, recruiting is down so we send the same troops to Iraq over and over again, why? Bring back the draft– let’s see how long the war in Iraq would last if we activated the draft.

You’re missing the point. We are involved in a war that started over false pretences. We went looking for weapons of mass destruction. There weren’t any. It’s a war on terror, they say, but so far there’s no connection between Al-Qaeda and Iraq. The truth is this Texas oil tycoon started a war with our biggest oil supplier to drive the prices of oil to the sky domestically. Who else benefits from the prices of oil going up? Not me for certain. I’m getting a bycicle. BTW, this oil tycoon from Texas has a limo and a driver. He never has to buy oil for himself.

What we should do is make a peace treaty with Iran before things turn nasty in there, too. I mean, as long as they don’t use nuclear weapons, do we really care what they do with their nuclear energy? Same thing about Korea and China.

In my opinion, the real culprit here is the guy who told the moslims about the 72 virgins. He’s the one we should have hanged, not Hussein.

remember world war 2 ? we lost 20 and 30 thousand men , in a single day of fighting germans, or japanese. we gave a hundred million people freedom, and peace. (wich they still enjoy), through our sacrifice. we can not stop until we are done. we wont steal from them, or rape thier wealth. we will give our blood for the freedom of others. we stand for justice, fareness, AND-- PEACE. we are Americans.

Any pullout from Iraq requires a great deal more than just the Presidents "word".
Even if Obama gets into the White House, that is simply not a unilateral decision and one that would be hard tested by Congress. The Democrats led by Pelosi made the same promise and failed.
The risk with Obama, is in too naive an attitude about Iran, N.Korea and Russia’s latest adventurism, which is causing "cold war" mishaps.
Afghanistan, Turkey with the Kurds, South American resentment of the U.S.. Allies who aren’t there for us or provide "token" support.
His inexperience and apparent belief that "democracy" doesn’t work anymore, are a very scary prospect.

those before you got tired of hearing about vietnam. before that everyone got sick of hearing about korea and then there were 50 years of the cold war. people were only united and close during ww2. but there was the civil war and that has left deep and lasting marks. what do they all have in common? some say it was the politicians all the time. it is always the politicians it seems. where do they come from and why do they take such terrible risks that fragment our society with crazy change. now things are worse than ever. fragmented and angry people told they must all be alike except the ruling elite.
